Hawaii, HI

The State of Hawaii is the 43rd largest state in the United States and was the last of the 50 states to join the Union.  Hawaii is also the only state composed entirely of islands and the only state not located on continental North America.  Hawaii is known primarily as a tourist state with its beaches, warm climate, and generally pleasant environment drawing millions of tourists year round.

Hawaii has a local, historic agricultural industry but most of its economic presence comes from tourism.  It is a very popular maritime tourist destination.  The United States Military has a significant presence in Hawaii and is one of the state’s largest employers.

Most of the state’s comparatively small population can be found on the islands of O’ahu and Moloka’i.  Most of the other islands have fairly high population density.
